Derek Tirado is the founder and owner of Reliant Investigative Group LLC (d/b/a Reliant Investigative Agency). He retired as a detective from the Gainesville Police Department after 20+ years of service (November 2020), which included Patrol Operations, Crime Prevention Unit, Special Operations Unit (burglary investigations and covert surveillance), and Criminal Investigations Division. During his tenure as a detective, he investigated hundreds of cases, ranging from organized retail criminal groups, burglaries, embezzlements, frauds, thefts, robberies, sex crimes, death investigations, and many others, with a specialization in fraud and elder exploitation investigations. While serving as a crime prevention officer, he performed dozens of security surveys for private and public spaces, and educated and equipped the public with crime prevention strategies via in-person presentations. After retiring, he entered the fraud, security, and enterprise risk space in the banking industry. He also has experience working as a contracted SIU field investigator, for insurance-related investigations.

Derek has attended, and continues to attend dozens of training sessions, conferences, professional networking meetings, and webinars. As such, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience investigating a myriad of cases and is skilled in crime prevention strategies and techniques, and stays informed and educated about current investigative techniques, crime trends and security strategies.

The knowledge, training, skills and experience he’s gained over his career have made him an effective, competent and knowledgeable professional investigator, process server, and crime prevention specialist. He is a tenacious investigator, is trustworthy, thorough and takes tremendous pride in his work and the excellent customer service he provides.
